    • Playground

We believe that play provides the foundations for academic learning and gives children the chance to utilize their creativity to gain a positive sense of themselves. Our playground and outdoor classroom provides a safe area for the children in our care to learn, explore, and grow! The children love to play in the playhouse, gazebo, with the instruments, sand table, weaving panel and the many other fun activities they can learn from!

    • Curriculum

Central Child Care is proud to have been a pilot center for Continuity of Care. Continuity of Care is a state mandated requirement and our children are allowed to stay with the same peer group from infancy to age 3. The children learn social skills through the friendships they develop with each other.

  • Welcome to Central Child Care

  • Central Child Care, a licensed non-profit child care and day care center, has provided a loving, safe environment for kids since 1958. This long standing commitment to the welfare of young children has led us to be one of the top Evansville child care facilities.

We believe that when a child is born, their world is full of possibilities. Possibilities of discovering, caring and sharing, adventure and success, and the fullness of God’s Love. At Central Child Care we strive to help each child achieve these possibilities. Our staff is throughly committed to quality child care, and is continually pursuing higher education and training in order to provide the best possible developmental opportunities for the children in their care.

In addition to giving the best possible care for children while they are separated from their parents, we administer support and upon request guidance to parents of young children.

With strong working relationships among businesses within the community, other local child care agencies, and area colleges we have grown into a high quality child care facility, meeting and exceeding all child care standards in the state of Indiana.

Central Child Care has Earned Paths to Quality, Level 4

Paths to Quality Level 4 is the highest indicator of quality with national accreditation. Level 4 participants demonstrate the knowledge and skill to plan appropriate activities and opportunities for children that lead to school readiness. Level 4 participants use child observations, assessments, and portfolios to design activities which are inviting, engaging, and challenging to all children in their care. Level 4 programs have made a significant investment in the professional development of the staff and lead caregiver, and incorporate family and staff input into the program. At Central, we make a promise to uphold the highest standards for early childhood development and to excel in our commitment to the families we serve.

Central Child Care is also proud to have been a pilot center for Continuity of Care. Creative Curriculum Program for Early Childhood Learning

Central Child Care has implemented the Creative Curriculum program for early childhood learning. The philosophy behind this curriculum states that children learn best by doing. Learning isn’t just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimentation in order to discover how things work and learn firsthand about the world we live in.

The Creative Curriculum identifies goals in all areas of development:

    Social Development

To help children feel comfortable in their environment, to build trust in others, make friends, and feel they are part of a group.

    Emotional Development

To help experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control.

    Cognitive Development

    Little Girl Painting
To encourage children to become confident learners by allowing them to try their own ideas and experience success, and to help them acquire learning skills, such as the ability to solve problem, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations, and feelings.

    Physical Development

To help children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.

All of our lessons are aligned to the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for all children.
